“Palato Frosty’s; A Haven for Chocolate Aficionados”

  • “Palato Frosty’s”, a name derived from the ability to distinguish between and appreciate different flavours, and from Frosty’s Cupcakes, the pilot project of Ayshath Nishath and her mother Khadeeja Zubair, is a café that serves the most delicious baked goods, coffee and tea, as well as sandwiches and delightful little desserts. Located in the tiny lane Bokarumaa Goalhi, adjacent to the Maldives Telecoms Company, Palato Frosty’s is a charming little café that has a loyal customer base.

Aysha persuaded her mother to begin the business of Frosty’s Cupcakes at home in 2013, which proved to be a success, and in time devised a plan to expand their business with the establishment of a café. Aysha tried recipes and forwarded those to her mother while studying in Singapore and once they acquired a space in town, began setting up the café, hoping for the best. Aysha and her mother dived in to the operations of the café and soon acquired two helpers in the kitchen as well.

Palato Frosty’s is a rustic and cosy little café that greets its customer’s with mouth-watering treats displayed in counters and cake stands, a tempting preview of what to expect. With wooden furniture and décor giving it a warm feeling, and hanging plants and light bulbs that descend from the ceiling, Palato Frosty’s has a welcoming feel to it.

With the slogan “If Coffee & Chocolate can’t fix it, you have a real problem.” displayed on the wall behind the counter, the café stays true to its philosophy with superior coffee and chocolates imported from Singapore, that are guaranteed to brighten up a person’s day. The chocolates are Valrhona Chocolates, which is a French Premium Couverture Chocolate.

Select dishes such as Brioche and Bacon Scramble, Scone and Bacon Scramble and Brioche French Toast are available from breakfast and their brunch menu consists of Potato Waffle Benny, Buttermilk Waffle ,and Bacon and Beef Shakshuka, to name a few.

Desserts include Mango and Passion fruit Entremet, Milk Chocolate Gianduja Entremet and Belgian Chocolate Coated Waffle, the latter being the rage this season, with customers flocking to get a taste of the delicious buttermilk waffle coated with Belgian Milk and dark and white chocolate. The chocolate range for the chocolate coated waffles has been expanded after Eid and now, in addition to the Belgian Chocolate option, they now have an expansive range of Valrhona Chocolate options for bases and drizzles.

Aysha, her husband Anil and her mother Khadeeja, are content with how the café is being operated and aim to continue their little business, and keep on sating their sweet toothed customers and caffeine devotees.
