Hotel Asia International Culinary Challenge 2019 is set to begin on Sunday, 06th October 2019, and it is undoubtedly one of the biggest, most anticipated culinary events in the Maldives.
Commencing for the 15th successful time, this competition’s aim is to provide a platform for chefs to improve their skills and abilities, as well as to showcase their talents. Like the competitions held in the past, visitors can expect to see both beginners and experienced chefs in action from this year’s event as well.
The competition consists of a total of 22 categories this time. In addition to the awards given for these categories, the participants are also competing for special awards such as the “Alan Palmer Challenge Trophy”, “Most Outstanding Chef”, “Best Maldivian Chef” and “Best Artist”. The entries will be judged by a panel of 24 international judges from 15 different countries, including Project Director Alan Palmer.
Apart from the Culinary Challenge, it is also noteworthy that three culinary masterclasses will be held during the event. The masterclasses are “Chocolate Flowers and More” by UK Celebrity Pastry Chef Cherish Finden, “MSG, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” by cookbook author and chef-owner at Lush Epicurean Culinary Consultancy Eric Low, “Aussie Meat at It’s Best” by cooperate executive chef Tarek Ibrahim.
