The 15th Hotel Asia International Culinary Challenge has come to a conclusion. The event took place at Dharubaaruge from 6th October to 9th October, alongside the Hotel Asia 2019 Exhibition.
Over 400 chefs from various resorts, hotels and restaurants in the region competed in 22 categories during this year’s challenge. The judges’ panel consisted of 24 judges from 15 different countries.
We were fortunate to witness the talents of some very skilled chefs and culinary artists this time around as well. Maldivian chef Shifana Saeed of Oishi-The House of Sushi was crowned “Most Outstanding Chef”, while chef W.P.Perera took the title of “Most Outstanding Pastry Chef”. Chef Perera is from Baros Maldives resort, who also won the award for “Best Culinary Establishment” with three gold medals and two silver medals.
